Televised debate on dual citizenship in Lithuania

In preparation for a referendum to take place on 12 May 2019, Chamber president Rimas Čuplinskas participated in a televised debate with politicians and other public figures on 29 April 2019. If successful, the referendum would stop Lithuanians from losing citizenship upon becoming citizens of another EU, EEA, NATO or OECD member state. Čuplinskas described Canada’s rather liberal stance regarding dual citizenship and the positive long-term effects of this practice on its economy.
