Over 100 invited guests, including politicians, diplomats, business leaders and Chamber members, celebrated Canada Day in Vilnius on 28 June 2019. This was the first such event jointly hosted by the Canadian Embassy and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania. On 1 July 1867 the three separate colonies of the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick united into a single Dominion within the British Empire called Canada.
The guests were greeted by the Canadian ambassador Kevin Rex and Chargé d’affaires Beth Richardson. Chamber president Rimas Čuplinskas presented membership certificates to two new Chamber members – Circle K Lithuania and Agropro.
Exceptional highlights of the event were the Red Maple Ale specially brewed for the celebration by Canadian-Lithuanian brewmaster Victor Lukoshius as well as the Canada Day cake designed by award-winning chef Deivydas Praspaliauskas.
