The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast “CETA Opportunities for Lithuanian Business” took place in Vilnius on 18 January 2019.
In his opening words, Chamber President Rimas Čuplinskas noted that the event was fully booked within several days after its announcement, clearly showing that interest in the Canadian market and the opportunities offered by the Canadian-European free-trade agreement was exceptionally high.
The Ambassador of Canada Kevin Rex emphasized the strong increase in trade between Lithuania and Canada since 2017, when the Canada-European Union Comprehensive and Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) partially entered into force, and expressed his gratitude to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce for organizing such an event within a few months since its founding.
The CCC’s Business Breakfast keynote speaker was Al Pace (Algis Pacevičius), a Canadian lawyer of Lithuanian descent, Founder and Principal of Toronto based Pace Law Firm.
In his presentation, Al Pace explained the history and current legal implications of the trade agreement for Lithuanian companies interested in doing business in Canada, greatly simplifying trade, employment and incorporation abroad, and concluded by answering various questions by participants.
